Business Management System Structure

The structure is applicable to government departments, provincial and commercial systems.

Small pocket books will be given to each participant with the main course notes, and space to log their project progress.

Syllabus

1.) Determination of primary system processes for the core business.

2.) Process and value added mapping.

3.) Evaluation of customer needs and expectations.

4.) Determination of resource requirements (with forecasting).

5.) Planning to achieve customer needs (CPA and Gantt charts).

6.) Setting measurable objectives, technical and economic benchmarking.

7.) Writing procedural methods for achievement of  objectives.

8.) System and process analysis to set standards.

9.) Finance, costing, budgeting, asset management.

10.) Performance measurements and indices for resources.

11.) Reporting performance to planned expectation.

12.) Corrective action and reactive prevention.

13.) Proactive prevention.

14.) Sustaining the improved performance.

  • Each course is tailored to the practical departmental activities.
  • All course participants are given projects that must be completed for certification.
  • Projects range from simpletask achievement for an extended period to projects that need a small team to complete successfully.
  • A system of periodic assessment and evaluation will be used to ensure continuity.
  • Mentoring will be provided for the projects.

The use of computers in terms of MS Office applications to perform some of the training is encouraged.
Training may be given separately or included with the course as required.
